The existing sports park in San Luis district of Lima is being redeveloped to meetthe sports infrastructure requirements to host the Pan American and Para Pan American Games in 2019. British architectural firm, Pattern Design designed the new velodrome, aquatics centre, athletics stadium, bowling centre, and multisports arena, as well as the overall masterplan of the site. Utilising Pattern's experience in extremely fast-track design and build projects, the entire project is currently under construction for delivery by July 2019. Both the epic proportions of Lima's iconic huaca pyramids, and the textile motifs of Peru are evoked in the fade designs across all individual venues, to create a cohesive design across the park.
